Student Government(SG) Election Timeline

Hello all. Here is the election timeline for those interested in joining Student Government. It is a great opportunity and all those interested should definitely be gearing up for a strenuous campaign.

Dear Student Leaders, As we quickly approach the season for Student Government Elections, I wanted to make you aware of important information for those of you who are interested in running for a position in this year's elections. And even if you haven't thought about running yet, this is good information on how to learn more about how to do so. Filing to run during the elections has already began and filing will end on Tuesday, February 9 at 4:00 p.m. To file you must do so with Becky Carreon in the Student Government Office (SSB 4.206). This Wednesday, January 27 at 7 p.m., Student Government ill be hosting an information session regarding "How to Run in an SG Election." This forum will cover the timeline for elections, what you have to do to file and declare your candidacy, rules, and all important information regarding the process. The session will take place in the Glenn Maloney Room (SSB G1.310). It is open to all UT students and it is strongly encouraged for those interested in running in the 2010 Spring elections. For your reference, I have also attached the timeline for this year's elections. Please feel free to forward this information to your membership and encourage your members to attend this session if they have any interest in running in the upcoming elections. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
