I forgot he (Obama) was black---Chris Matthews is white

Our President Mr. Obama is doing so great that it has been times when white society(the society that's uncomfortable with the amount of power her has) have forgotten his race and focused on just his position. This shows how the Presidents State of the Union spoke values to the public. An amazing speech. Even if only for a moment people forgot his racial makeup this is an accomplishment all within itself. Check out the link for more information and a more detailed story.

Moral of the story: people are starting to see past race and focus on the politics. It took a while, but it's a worthwhile moment with many more to come.

Study!

BSA is all about studying for this semester and every semester for that matter.

Too often times we can get bogged down in social scenes and lose sight of the thing that matters most. You know the thing that you're paying over 4,000 a semester in tuition to receive. The average amount of debt incurred here can be enormous. For someone to acquire this debt and then not even get a degree seems like a waste, well, because it is.

But you're tired of the speeches and that and for good reason. A lot of times the people giving these X-Lounge lectures are barely hanging on themselves. With that said information can and is important no matter who's the source. Those 4.0 people, if they exist, can be helpful but most of us aren't 4.0 people. So sometimes it's good to get advice from those that have been in tough spots, but still managed to come out on top. "So and so don't even got a 3.0" if thats the case then they didn't have a glamorous time here, but they are still here. Maybe they know the easy A classes, maybe they can tell you about their mistakes and things they could have done different to help you get your act together. Everyone can help you in some way, shape, or form.

So just stay focused and keep studying. You don't understand something raise that hand and also go to office hours for the professor. Want a good grade get to know that TA that is actually grading the papers and become their best friend. College isn't really about being book smarter than everyone it's about who's willing to work harder and put in more time. That's the beautiful part about it, and sometimes the ugly thing too,( the gift and the curse if you will) what you are willing to put in will determine what you get out of it.

Ah well that's enough for now. Keep working hard everyone and get those grades, because they ain't going to give em to ya.
